صرح المتحدث الرسمي للمديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات السعودية الرائد مروان الحازمي، بأن المتابعة الأمنية لشبكات تهريب وترويج المخدرات التي تستهدف أمن المملكة وشبابها، أسفرت عن إحباط محاولة تهريب 12,729 مليون قرص من مادة الإمفيتامين المخدر مخبأة في شحنة فاكهة الرمان عبر ميناء جدة الإسلامي، بالتنسيق مع هيئة الزكاة والضريبة والجمارك.وأوضحت انه تم القبض على مستقبلي الشحنة بمحافظة جدة، وهم 4 أشخاص، مقيمان من الجنسية المصرية، ومقيمان من الجنسيتين السورية واليمنية، وجرى إيقاف المتهمين واتخاذ الإجراءات النظامية الأولية بحقهم وإحالتهم إلى النيابة العامة.
