أعلنت وزارة الأوقاف في الكويت أنها ستحقق في واقعة ابتزاز وصفتها بـ"الاتجار بالبشر"، ووقع ضحيتها بعض العاملين في المساجد لقاء تجديد إقاماتهم.وأوضحت الوزارة، في بيان لها الأحد، أنه تم تداول واقعة ابتزاز بحق بعض العاملين في المساجد على يد مقاولين مقابل تجديد إقاماتهم على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، مشددة على رفضها لهذه الأفعال التي تعتبر "صورة من صور الاتجار بالبشر"، دون أن توضح التفاصيل.وأشارت الوزارة إلى أنها "ستحقق في وقوع هذه الأفعال غير المقبولة"، متوعدة بإحالة الأمر إلى جهات التحقيق المختصة تمهيدا لاتخاذ المقتضى القانوني اللازم.وشددت على أنه ستتم محاسبة "كل مقاول يعتدي على حقوق العمال"، داعية كل "متضرر (..) التقدم بإبلاغ الوزارة".وأضافت أن على المتضرر الإبلاغ عن كل ما تعرض إليه لكي تباشر الجهات المعنية إجراءاتها القانونية تجاه مثل هذا الطلب غير المشروع.
