وجّهت موسكو تهمة التجسّس رسميا إلى الصحافي الأميركي، إيفان غيرشكوفيتش، وفق ما أفادت وكالات أنباء روسية، الجمعة، مشيرة إلى أنه نفى ضلوعه في أي تجسس.وأوردت وكالة أنباء تاس الروسية الرسمية، نقلا عن مصدر في أجهزة إنفاذ القانون أن "محققي هيئة الأمن الفيدرالية الروسية وجّهوا إلى غيرشكوفيتش تهمة التجسّس لصالح بلاده"، وأشارت إلى أنه "نفى بشدة كل الاتهامات وقال إنه منخرط في أنشطة صحافية في روسيا".وأكّدت موسكو، الخميس، للسفيرة الأميركية أنّ "لا جدوى" من محاولة الضغط عليها في قضية الصحافي الأميركي غيرشكوفيتش الذي أوقفته السلطات الروسية بتهمة "التجسس".واستقبل نائب وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي ريابكوف، السفيرة الأميركية الجديدة لين ترايسي وناقش معها هذه المسألة.وقالت وزارة الخارجية في بيان إنّ "الضجّة الإعلامية حول هذه القضية بهدف الضغط على السلطات الروسية والمحكمة التي ستقرّر مصير إيفان غيرشكوفيتش لا جدوى منها ولا معنى لها".

Hurricane Florence is expected to become a dangerous "major hurricane" by late Monday as it heads toward the US East Coast, the National Hurricane Center said, as states of emergency were declared in preparation for the storm. The center of Florence was located about 685 miles (1,100 kilometers) southeast of Bermuda, the NHC in its 0300 GMT Monday advisory.Florence had maximum sustained winds of 90 miles per hour, making it a Category 1 storm on the five-level Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale.
