امتنع بعض رجال الشرطة في جزء من بروكسل عن ممارسة عملهم، وذلك بسبب ساعات العمل المكثفة في تمشيط الشوارع وحماية المباني.
وقالت السلطات في منطقة غرب بروكسل التي تغطي مولنبيك في بيان إن الدورية الليلية ودورية صباح الجمعة في إجازة. وأضاف البيان أنه "من المحتمل أن تكون مبادرة إضراب بسبب ضغط العمل كسبب لها."
وأوضح البيان أن الشرطة من مناطق أخرى تحركت لتولي المسؤوليات "وخدمة السكان لم تتعرض للخطر في أي وقت".
وترتبط مولنبيك بهجمات نوفمبر 2015 في باريس، إذ أن بعض المشتبه بهم ترعرعوا أو كانوا يعيشون في ذلك الحي في بروكسل.
