الشرققالت منظمة بريطانية لمراقبة الملاحة، إن الحادث الذي تعرضت له ناقلة مواد كيميائية قبالة سواحل دولة الإمارات، قد يكون "عملية اختطاف" محتملة.وكانت وكالات أنباء أفادت بأن 4 سفن على الأقل قبالة سواحل الإمارات العربية المتحدة، بثّت تحذيرات، الثلاثاء، بأن طواقمها فقدوا السيطرة بسبب "ظروف غامضة"، فيما أفادت هيئة العمليات البحرية البريطانية في إشعار تحذيري، أن هناك "حادث خطف محتمل" في هذه الواقعة.ونقلت وكالة "أسوشيتدس برس" عن موقع "مارين ترافيك"، أن ناقلات النفط هي "Queen Ematha"، و"Queen Ematha"، و"Golden Brilliant"، و"Abyss"، مشيرة إلى أنه لم يتضح على الفور ما كان يحدث قبالة سواحل الفجيرة.وفي وقت سابق، أفاد موقع "عمليات التجارة البحرية للمملكة المتحدة" (يو.كيه.إم.تي.أو) التابع للقوات البريطانية، بوقوع حادث غير مرتبط بالقرصنة قبالة مياه الفجيرة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، مشيراً إلى أن التحقيقات لا تزال جارية.
